* Ephedra (MaHuang) - alkaloids are amphetamine-like compounds with potentially powerful stimulant effects on the nervous system and heart. Ephedra is one of the most dangerous of the weightless dietary supplements. Over 800 injuries have been reported by users and doctors to the FDA and various state medical bodies, including more than 50 deaths. Most of these cases involve heart attacks or high blood pressure, leading to bleeding in the brain or stroke.

* Caffeine Anhydrous – is a form of caffeine and excessive usage is known to cause restlessness and/or insomnia. Also, people taking aspirin or blood thinning medications should consult their doctor before taking extra caffeine, because it may interfere with blood clotting. More studies are still needed to determine if caffeine is truly beneficial for weight loss.
