Hot-Rox is yet another product marketed almost exclusively towards women. The active ingredients are advertised as a way for women, to loose weight. The product simply contains metabolic enhancers and not the latest appetite suppressant, Hoodia. In response to a market dominated by universal diet products, this company sells a slightly different approach. Hot-Rox is very similar to another product on the market. Hot-Rox contains Sclaremax which is a plant compound known as Salvia Sclarea. It may have an enzymatic action in the formation of cAMP. Increased levels of cAMP may reduce lipoprotein, which may decrease body fat production. More studies are still needed to determine if this new ingredient alone is truly beneficial for weight management. The product also contains Guggulsterones which come from an Indian tree called Guggul. This tree secretes a sap and the compound may increase thyroid hormone levels; it may also be created synthetically. Guggulsterones do not stimulate the nervous system, and are generally combined with other stimulants in dietary supplements geared for weight loss.
