While the list of ingredients as a whole appears to be quite beneficial, it is puzzling that the manufacturer opted to include Caffeine in this supplement, since Caffeine is decidedly not one of the “super foods.” The manufacturer claims that Green Tea, which is the source of the Caffeine in this product, is a “super antioxidant.” The product description also states that Green Tea also includes L-Theanine, which is said to “relax you and relieve stress.”

Caffeine is said to worsen acne, which is one of the conditions this product is advertised to alleviate, but this may not always be the case. Caffeine may also cause various side effects, such as rapid heartbeat, anxiety, nausea and insomnia for some. On the other hand, Caffeine has been shown to cause absolutely no effect in some individuals, so these concerns may be minimal. Additionally, the amount of Caffeine found in Green Tea is very small, so there may be even less chance of adverse effects.

On an online discussion board, consumers seemed to have varied comments about this product. One consumer discussed adverse effects experienced by his wife: “She said that she is having stomach cramps for the whole week.” Consumers should keep in mind, however, that this is only one example of a single consumer’s reaction; not all customers of this product may have seen such negative effects.

The “super foods” mentioned on Oprah seem to be showing increasing promise, so Lipovox may still be a reasonable solution for some individuals looking to lose weight and gain nutritional intake without spending a fortune on expensive whole foods.
